Privacy Policy

Last updated 7 September 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Intelligent Pest Control (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses and protects personal data when you use our website at https://intelligentpestcontrol.co.uk, contact us by phone or email, or use our pest control services. We are the data controller for this processing.

We process personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Who we are

For privacy queries, please email info@intelligentpestcontrol.co.uk or write to us at the address above.

What personal data we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

  • Identity and contact data — name, address, email address, telephone number, and details of your property or business premises when you enquire about or book a service.
  • Service and job data — information about pest problems, site access, treatment history, invoices and payment records relating to work we carry out for you.
  • Communication data — content of emails, calls and messages you send us, and our replies.
  • Technical and usage data — IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited and approximate location derived from IP, collected via server logs and (if you consent) analytics cookies.
  • Cookie and preference data — your cookie consent choices stored on your device. See our Cookie Policy.

We do not intentionally collect special category data. Please do not send us health or other sensitive information unless it is necessary for us to carry out a job safely (for example access restrictions).

How we collect data

  • Directly from you by phone, email, post, or when you ask us to visit your property.
  • Automatically when you browse our website (logs, cookies and similar technologies).
  • From embedded third-party content you choose to load (for example map embeds on our contact page).

Why we use your data and lawful bases

Purpose Lawful basis (UK GDPR)
Responding to enquiries and providing quotes Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) — to run and grow our business; and/or steps prior to a contract (Art. 6(1)(b))
Performing pest control contracts and aftercare Contract (Art. 6(1)(b))
Invoicing, accounting and tax records Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)) and contract
Keeping the website secure and diagnosing faults Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f))
Optional analytics (Dotwall site monitor), if you accept Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — via our cookie banner
Essential cookies needed for the site to work (including storing your cookie choice) Legitimate interests / strictly necessary for the service you request

Where we rely on legitimate interests, we balance those interests against your rights. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests — see “Your rights” below.

Third parties and processors

We may share personal data with trusted providers who help us operate, only as needed:

  • Website hosting — our site is hosted on Netlify, which processes technical logs (such as IP addresses) to deliver and secure the website.
  • Google Fonts — fonts may be loaded from Google’s servers when you visit the site.
  • Map embeds — contact and coverage pages may embed OpenStreetMap tiles; “Open in Maps” links may send you to Apple Maps or another map provider you choose.
  • Dotwall site monitor — if you accept analytics cookies, a visit tracker from our web partner (Dotwall) may load to help us understand how the site is used. It is not loaded unless you consent.
  • Professional advisers — accountants, insurers or lawyers where required for our business.
  • Law enforcement or regulators — where we are legally required to disclose information.

We do not sell your personal data. Some providers (for example Google) may process data outside the UK. Where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or adequacy decisions, as applicable.

How long we keep data

  • Enquiries that do not become jobs — normally up to 12 months, unless you ask us to delete sooner.
  • Customer and job records — for the duration of the relationship and typically up to 6 years afterwards for accounting, tax and legal claims.
  • Website / server logs — for a short period as retained by our host for security and operations.
  • Cookie consent records — for the life of the consent cookie (see Cookie Policy) or until you change preferences.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you may have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Rectify inaccurate data
  • Erase data in certain circumstances
  • Restrict or object to processing
  • Data portability (where processing is based on consent or contract and is automated)
  • Withdraw consent at any time (where we rely on consent), without affecting prior lawful processing
  • Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO)

To exercise your rights, contact us at info@intelligentpestcontrol.co.uk or 19 Warren Park Way, Enderby, Leicestershire, LE19 4SA, United Kingdom. We will respond within one month in most cases.
